Published in The Lancet, a weekly peer-reviewed medical journal.
This was a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial. The assumption was that homeopathic preparations are nothing more than placebos. The study compared the effects of a homeopathic preparation of mixed grass pollens with placebo in 144 patients with active hay-fever. The patients treated with homeopathy showed a significant reduction in symptoms. The significance of this response was increased when results were corrected for pollen count and the response was associated with a halving of the need for antihistamines.
Homeopathy is not a placebo response!
