Nosebleeds and Homeopathy

The inside of the nose is covered with moist, delicate tissue that has a rich supply of blood vessels. These blood vessels are very close to the surface in order to control the temperature of each breath of air so that it is just right for the head and the lungs.  

For various reasons, these capillaries can break open and bleed, sometimes quite heavily.  

At this time of year, nosebleeds are quite common due to the very dry indoor air and the excessive nose blowing due to colds.  

Here are some common remedies to help stop nosebleeds quickly and safely:

 

Arnica:

This remedy works wonders in stopping any for of bleeding from trauma like getting hit in the face with a ball etc. Arnica is also useful in nose-bleed of growing children.

 

Hamamelis:

This remedy is a very effective anti haemorrhagic medicine for nosebleeds. Indicated when the blood is dark and incoaguable.

 

Phosphorus:

Phosphorous can control bleeding from various orifices of the body and is particularly useful in nosebleeds. Phosphorous also helps in reducing the tendency towards recurrent nosebleeds.

 

Crocus Sativus:

This remedy is effective for nosebleeds with dark, stringy nasal bleeding. There can also be extreme physical weakness and weariness. Crocus Sativus is very helpful for nosebleeds in the summer.

 

Lachesis:

Lachesis is a wonderful remedy for treating various bleeding tendencies. The blood will be thick and black and the person may complain that the blood irritates the lips and mouth.

 

Ferrum Met.:

Ferrum metalicum works well when the nosebleed is bright red in colour. there can also be exhaustion and weakness.

 

Ammonium Carb:

Ammonium carb is useful for nosebleeds that happen when crusts form in the nose from dry colds and then peel off.  Particularly common in the morning .

 

Carbo Veg:

Carbo vegetabilis is very helpful for people that have frequent nose bleeds. patient Due to blood loss the face of the patient appears pale, with loss of vitality.

 

Kali-Bi:

This remedy is helpful for those with a nose bleed from a dry cold.  The nosebleed is often preceeded by pressure and tightness at the root of the nose.
The blood is thick and dark red in colour with persistent tickling in the nostril.
