Anxiety in Dogs

Sometimes we notice that our dogs are dealing with anxiety. Whether it’s from being left alone, during thunderstorms or fireworks, change in homes etc. Thankfully there are a number of Homeopathic remedies that can help.
The remedies listed below are helpful in acute situations but if your dog experiences chronic anxiety, you should see the advice of a Homeopath to help you treat them
Aconite:
Fear and restlessness after a shocking or traumatic event.
Argentum Nitricum:
For anticipatory anxiety often with trembling and diarrhea.
Belladonna:
Extreme fear with dilated pupils and aggressive behaviour. Picture an animal trapped in a corner or an animal carrier.
Ignatia:
Oversensitive, muscle twitches and moodiness. Typically following a grief, loss or rehoming. There’s lots of whining and sighing from the animal.
Nux Vomica:
These animals are ofter the “boss” of the house. They are impatient, fearful and overly sensitive. Thy tend to bully other animals but a thunderstorm scares them.
Phosphorus:
Helpful for dogs that are scared by thunderstorms, fireworks or gunshots, in the moment.
Staphysagria:
This remedy is good for animals that are typically gentle but have angry or fearful outbursts.
