Homeopathy for Cold Sores

Cold sores are small blisters that appear on the lips and around the mouth. They can tingle, burn and itch. They can also become quite painful. They can be filled with fluid and usually last a week or two.
There are a number of remedies that are useful for cold sores but here are four of the most common.
Natrum Muriaticum is likely the most common remedy for cold sores. It is best to take it as soon as you feel the cold sore starting with tingling and burning.
It is also helpful when a full outbreak happens and the sores crack and bleed. It is very useful when stress is the main cause of the cold sore.
Rhus Tox is very helpful once the breakout is established and fluid is seeping out of the blisters. Rhus tox will help the sores to crust over and dry up. Nat-Mur and Rhus tox are often used together to fight off cold sores.
Dulcamara is useful when cold sores are worse in the cold and rainy weather or around menstruation. It relieves the burning and itching and works well on blisters that have formed a yellowish crust.
Sepia works well on sores that are around the lips, mouth, nose and nasal areas. These blisters ooze fluid. It works well on people who are lethargic and esp. for women that are pregnant, menopausal or during menstruation.
